Tales From The Golden Age

The final 15 years of the Ceausescu regime were the worst in Romania's history. Nonetheless, the propaganda machine of that time referred without fail to that period as “the golden age”... TALES FROM THE GOLDEN AGE adapts for screen the most popular urban myths of the period. Comic, bizarre, surprising myths abounded, myths that drew on the often surreal events of everyday life under the communist regime.

Import/Export

IMPORT/EXPORT chronicles two different migrations: a young woman who leaves behind her mother and young child in The Ukraine to begin a new life as a nurse in Vienna; and a headstrong young security guard called Paul who leaves Vienna to accompany his stepfather on a trip delivering gumball machines in Eastern Europe.

IMPORT/EXPORT is the latest film from director Ulrich Seidl (DOG DAYS). Hailed by critics as a startling and bold film, it is without doubt recent European cinema's most provocative and audacious investigation of the post-Soviet universe and the new relations between East and West.

Dir: Ulrich Seidl. Cast: Natalia Epureanu, Erich Finsches -2008.
